Community Shuttle Services

COVID-19

In accordance with state requirements, passengers will be required to wear masks on Community Shuttles. Face masks will be available to riders in need of a mask while supplies last.

SMS has increased disinfecting protocols on all vehicles.

Passengers are encouraged to social distance on vehicles where possible. 

PROVIDING COMMUNITY SHUTTLE SERVICES TO THE FOLLOWING COMMUNITIES:

  • Davenport
  • Deer Park
  • Newport
  • Reardan
  • Ritzville
  • Sprague

Under a grant from the Washington State Department of Transportation and with support from local communities, SMS provides intercity transportation in a three-county area, linking rural communities in Eastern Washington with Spokane. SMS Community Shuttles operate weekdays and are fully accessible to people using wheelchairs or other mobility devices.

PROVIDING TRANSPORTATION TO MEDICAID HEALTH CARE APPOINTMENTS IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES:

  • Adams
  • Asotin
  • Ferry
  • Garfield
  • Grant
  • Lincoln
  • Pend Oreille
  • Spokane
  • Stevens
  • Whitman

SMS helps people in eastern Washington get to their Medicaid health care appointments.  We offer fuel vouchers, as well as rides on the public bus, in taxis, or with volunteers. The Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) pays for these services.

We’ve provided passenger transportation in Washington since 1981 and, beginning in 1989, have helped people in Washington with transportation to their Medicaid appointments.

SMS also operates community shuttle services, connecting several rural communities to Spokane, as well as providing dial-a-ride services in Deer Park for residents wanting to make local trips in-town.
